Round Two

Okay, so we were going through some family names in the ancestral department and found some more that we liked. The first time around Hannah and Ian James were in the lead. When we added the new names, the votes were whipped clean. I am sorry....so now we have round two and the votes are on!
There are no rules, you can vote for your favorite name over and over and over if you like.

As asked by Maddy....we will consider using the name but we hold ourselves free to choose in the end. Thanks!

Little clips

We've tried some new ways to do Suzanna's hair now that it has really grown in. We pulled out some little flower barretts and had a little fun. We were having such a great time, when I pulled the camera and asked her who we were going to visit with soon...she let a loud squeal. I said to say "cheese" to your cousins!!She's discovered the light switch. I don't mind as long as she is preoccupied which allows me to put in her hair pretty.

Grandpa Shockley

This last holiday weekend we drove down to Tennessee with visit with kin. While visiting Granny Shockley's house, Suzanna decided to go explore the house on her own. She came back running into the room we all were in with a big smile on her face and a toothbrush.
I wasn't sure if it was a cleaning toothbrush she found under the sink or if it belonged to someone. Guess whose it was......Grandpa Shockley's!
I love this picture, in the arms of Grandpa. This is one of the first times she let Casey's Dad hold her as a one-year-old.

the box

This box occupied Suzanna for about an hour this morning. She carefully pulled off all the tape and sticky labels. She would stick them back on and take them off again. It was fun to see how she reacted to the sticky side up....fun for me at least.
She discovered she could throw her balls in there, and take them back out. She even realized she fit in the box!
Whew, Nana...your box is a hit!

Heat Wave

We are finally coming out of the single digit weather zone! We had a chilly 8 degree weather for the beginning of the week....finally it was 22 degrees today and it feels like a heat wave!!
(I guess it's more like "HEAT WAVE...this is the island in the sun..." type like on Muppets Christmas Carol.) Do you recognize those pants Lizzy? Thanks!
Here's one that was taken at the beginning of the park fun....it soon (within 5 minuets) got too cold for no hats and gloves......
Can you see the tear in Suzanna's eye? We thought 22 felt so good compared to the single digits that we were maybe too zealous at the park. Good thing mama brought some gloves and a hat just in case. Much happier! Here are some busy hands at work. Thank you for this Christmas gift (you know who)...she loves it! What fun! I especially love the chubby hands....and look at those cheeks!
Can you say edible?

First Family TDY

We had our first family TDY, actually Casey was the only one with orders, but we couldn't resist a family trip partly paid by the government to Quantico Virginia! Virginia is not only the state Casey and I met, but that is my High School stomping grounds! Temporarily Dad and Mom are living in that area, so we jumped on the chance and came along! We got to spend the weekend with Nana and Papa, and Casey had to report to Quantico on Tuesday. We flew back on the same day, Wednesday. Wew, it was so much fun!

These colors really look good on Nana and Suzanna. I love this picture, it really captures both personalities.
Saturday night was a Scottish night for Nana and Papa. Eye, lad and lassie, you look brilliant!
My favorite part of Nana's house is the front door. The sun shines right through the door and it looks like rays of heaven coming into the house. Doesn't it look like Suz has a hallow? Our little angel.
It didn't take Suzanna long to make herself at home. As we were getting ready one morning, we caught Suz with both Nana and Papa's toothbrushes! Oh, no! Hummm, what do you think Papa's reaction will be to this?? Nana took Suz to the park. Our favorite part were the ducks. She had a little friend following her around, it was cute.
We sure love the park!
Nana is the best! She wasn't shy to slide down the slides with Suzanna, even the scary twisty ones!
